Tasty Tasty Campbell’s

A while back I was sent a big box of Campbell’s goodies from crowdtap with lots of new items to try out!

Here’s some of what I tried:
image

Portobello mushroom soup, I added garlic, pesto, artichoke hearts and eventually pasta

Everyone loves spaghettios!
image

Pasta, creamy parmesan chicken, French cut green beans.

This ended up being a loaded potato soup! Deeeeelish!

Thank you Campbell’s for letting me try some new recipes, I’ll definitely be buying these items again!

BBQ’d Goodness!!!

This past weekend I was lucky enough to host a McCormicks flavorfull BBQ at my place!

I was sent the following flavors to use, share, and enjoy and boy did we ever!

For Steakhouse Burgers –
Classic Burger
Smoky Applewood
Worcestershire Pub
Steakhouse Mushroom

We used these on the Ribs and Chicken:
Memphis Pit BBQ Rub
Tennessee Smokehouse BBQ Rub
Smokin’ Sweet Tea Marinade
Chipotle & Roasted Garlic,

And of course for the steaks:
Montreal Steak Sauce & seasoning

We also grilled up some corn on the cob, had macaroni salad, chips, salsa & guac, mac & cheese, and cheesecake stuffed strawberries! I made up some strawberry lemonade sangria, as well as tropical fruit sangria which were both hits on this hot day!

Justin and Tyler were grubbing on the ribs!!

My dad grilled everything up for us and we all chowed down!
The dog’s had a blast playing with everyone and stealing snacks that were dropped on the ground LoL.

Overall it was a great day with great friends, we all went home happy, full and ready for a nap!!

Thanksgiving in January…

Finally got around to making my Thanksgiving turkey today! It’s been hanging out in my freezer just fine aside from taking up room.

Since I had started cleaning my kitchen a few days ago I figured it was about time to throw it in the oven.

It was really basic, vegetable oil, salt, pepper, onion  garlic and chili powders. No stuffing, I’ll make that later with some mashed tatos.
image

It was an 18# bird so I’ll be eating it for a while. I managed to get all the meat off that I could, put two zip lock bags in the fridge and I think 4 in the freezer! I’m excited for Turkey sandwiches!

The dogs were very patient and got a few bites when I was done…

Spread Chocolate Over Everything!

image

image

I received a sample of the new Hershey’s spreadable chocolate!
Mine came with added almond flavor, which I’m glad was just flavor and not actual nuts because I’m not a fan of nuts in food.

Holy moly was this good on fresh fruit! The strawberries were gone first followed by the Apple slices!

I also liked to spread half peanut butter and half chocolate on some toast and let it meld together mmmm is your mouth watering yet?

This will be on store shelves very soon so i suggest you go get some and if you so desire, spread the possibilities like I have!
(Or keep it all to yourself!)

Green chili

2 T vegetable or corn oil 1 lb. cubed pork, like boneless country style ribs (i use cubed beef) 2 T flour 2 c chicken broth 1 garlic clove, crushed 1 small onion, chopped 8-10 roasted hatch green chiles, Anaheim or big jim, chopped  1 jalapeno chile, roasted, peeled, chopped-more if you like it hotter 1 large tomato, seeded, peeled, chopped or a small can of chopped tomatoes pinch of ground cumin (toasted in a hot pan) pinch of Mexican oregano salt and pepper 3-5 potatoes cubed In a heavy pot, heat 1 T oil. Brown pork on all sides, remove from pot and set aside. Add 1 T of oil to pot and heat. Whisk in flour and brown it a little until you’ve got a light coloured roux-add more oil if necessarily. Slowly whisk in chicken broth until thoroughly mixed. Add onion, garlic, chiles, tomato, cumin, oregano, s&p, potatoes, and reserved pork. Bring to a boil, then partially cover pot, lower heat to a simmer and cook 1 1/2-2 hours or until pork is tender and sauce is the right strength and thickness-adding water or broth or reducing to correct. Taste for salt and pepper.

No rest after the labor?

I thought 3 day weekends were for relaxing…?

Saturday, I worked 8am-4pm then I went over to the bf’s family’s house and hung out for a while.

I took some pics of them trying to play football in the street… only a lil blood was spilled lol

After that we met up with his friends for some food and what not and I didnt get home and in bed til midnight
But we got a cute picture!

Sunday I went back to work from 7-1 oy vey, luckily I’d gotten a lot done saturday to prepare for sunday so that made things a lot easier  for all of us who were already tired.

After work we went down to the taste of colorado, met up with Chantelle  for a few, ate a lot of food and walked around in the 90+ heat  with crowds and crowds of people!

We had a turkey leg, berry kabob, fried pickles, mini doughnuts, jelly belly samples… and I think thats it, but they were filling!

We went home and lounged around for hours.. around 9 I went home so I could take the beasts out  and get to bed. I had a little dinner, took a shower, and then went to get into bed… Where I found a large wet spot…. where SOMEONE had peed. I’m not sure WHO, I have an inkling it was a dog, because it just didn’t smell like cat pee. Everyone knows the difference. So, instead of dealing with it then, I went back to his house and slept there for 4 hours till I had to go to work lol.

I had to work even earlier at 5am today! Sheesh. Once 11 came around I ran outta there!  My feet feel swollen from all the working, standing, walking all weekend. So sore!

So now i’m at home dealing with the pee incident, washing my comforter, sheets, mattress pad, and i’ll need to vacuum and steam clean the mattress itself in a bit here.

I need to do regular laundry too cuz i’m pretty sure i’m down to one pair of clean underwear that snuck in with towels when I washed them lol lucky me!

The nice thing about today is no school! But I do need to catch up on some things, either tonight or tomorrow morning because yet again I work tomorrow night, rawr!

Alright time to get off my butt and get some schtuff around here and let the unfucking commence!

Green Chili!

Yum! Made this last night for the man.

1. Sauteed onions and garlic in olive oil.
2. Boiled potatoes for about 30 minutes (after they soaked in water for a few hours)
3. Added beef tips, browned. Then about 1 tbsp of flour to coat.
4. Added about half a bag of diced, roasted, peeled, new mexico green chillis
5. Dumped out most of the water in the potatoes
6. Add all ingredients of the other pan to the potatoes
7. Add about 3 cups of chicken broth
8. Stir, cover, cook over medium for about 40 minutes.
Should be pretty thick and chunky by now.
Top with shredded cheddar if you want, serve with tortillas!
Unfortunately I grabbed the mild chili instead if hot but it was still good!
